Canberra to Hobart……..Cold and wet to colder and snow.

Early start today for our trip to Hobart.

Rise and shine at 4am for a 5.20 departure to Canberra airport.

We had already been allocated our seats online and just needed to have our bags tagged and checked.

We spent 30 minutes in the Qantas Club Lounge before boarding

The start of a grey and cold Canberra day.

The snow on the alps was under the cloud.

Melbourne

Arrived in Melbourne at 7.40  and had an hour to transfer to Hobart flight.

In 2007 we spent 90 minutes sitting at this waterhole, not far from the Red Rocks get out point in Northern Kruger.

Apart from the myriad of birds in the trees, we had impala giraffe warthogs and baboons.

Dancing with the Prime Minister

Urgency.

 

The urgency is to immediately educate far and wide that there is no evidence proving the rhino horn has medicinal powers.

The slaughter of these strangely prehistoric beasts for the removal of their horns must be stopped now if we are to preserve the species.

Sad to think that in a few years we might have only a photograph of the rhinoceros to show our children and grandchildren.
