NAIDOC Celebrations, Another Birthday & a Trip to Sydney

NAIDOC - National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee.

Additional information on the background of Naidoc Day can be found HERE

Danielle, Katie and Cameron had a small stall at Naidoc on the Peninsula in Canberra.

This event was held on Sunday 4th July.

It was a beautiful crisp winter day in the Capital.

The cloudless blue sky and the 9C temperature together with a chilling breeze blowing off the lake made warm jackets the order of the day.

The artwork was produced by Katie and the quilts were made by my sister.

Wednesday 7th July was my birthday and the less said about this day the better.

I received a beautiful arrangement of my favourite flowers from David.

Katie was in Cairns for a conference, so we planned to have a family dinner the following Sunday.

Couldn't resist a pic of this car with the numberplate complimenting the window add.

Sydney city also promoted Naidoc.

An added surprise for me was breakfast on the Saturday morning with Franny Peters-Little, another inspirational woman.

I had not seen Franny for quite a few years, and David & I had a lot of catching up to do over breakfast.

All in all a busy and rewarding week.
